LUGANSK, January 29 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Prices of 92 and 95 octane petrol in the Lugansk People’s Republic are one-third cheaper than in Ukraine, the Lugansk Media Centre reported after conducting a survey.
As of January 29, the average ruble-denominated price of A-92 petrol in Kiev-controlled parts of the Lugansk region at the rate quoted by the LPR State Bank made up 63.3 rubles per litre, A-95 petrol cost 65.6 rubles and diesel fuel 62.1 rubles.
The price monitoring published by the Lugansk administration on January 29 showed that the average A-92 price in the LPR capital reached 43 rubles per litre; A-95 sold at 45 rubles and diesel fuel at 52 rubles.
Consequently, A-92 petrol in LPR is 20.3 rubles cheaper than in Ukraine and A-95 is 20.6 rubles (or 33 percent) cheaper. The price of the LPR’s diesel fuel is 10.1 rubles lower than in Ukraine.
The LPR Fuel, Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported a decrease in prices at state-owned petrol stations starting January 7.
Head of the Ministry’s oil and gas sector Alexey Mosiychuk said that it was planned to implement more phased fuel price cuts.
Earlier, the LPR Council of Ministers passed a tax incentive resolution which cut the excise duty on light petroleum products from 150 US dollars to 50 US dollars per ton.
