The All-Russia People’s Front (ONF) social movement has delivered more than 250 tons of humanitarian aid for the needy in the Lugansk People’s Republic since April 6,” head of the ONF Murmansk region executive committee Maxim Sakhnevich said.
“We continue to hand out humanitarian aid to displaced persons. The ONF has been working in Lugansk for more than a week,” Sakhnevich said. “Two convoys have arrived bringing more than 250 tons of relief supplies.”
Activists have brought food, hygiene kits, deeds and fodder, he added.
On April 6, the ONF delivered to Lugansk over 130 tons of humanitarian aid for needy LPR residents. The ONF also launched its office in Lugansk.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Earlier, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. As of now, some 80 percent of the LPR territory has been liberated.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks participants have announced ceasefire more than 20 times since the autumn of 2014.
