Lugansk People’s Republic authorities are mulling the establishment of the transport machine building industrial park “Luganskteplovoz,” the LPR government press service reported.

On Tuesday, LPR prime minister Sergey Kozlov held a meeting focused on regional industrial development as part of “United Russia” party’s People’s Program.

LUGANSKTEPLOVOZ

“The industrial park will be set up on an area of some 160 hectares, with the existing approach roads and utility lines on the premises of the functioning enterprises “Lugamash,” “Lugtsentrokuz” named after Monyatovsky, “Lugastal and the Transmash research center,” the press service said.

Seven companies which specialize in the production of spare parts for locomotives and rail cars will become industrial park residents at the first stage. An increasing workload will help involve some 3,000 people in industrial cooperation.

TECHNOPARK DEVELOPMENT

Kozlov said at the meeting that regional authorities have to accelerate the development of industrial sectors by promoting industrial parks, technoparks and high technology clusters.

The new regions have established NOVOROSSIYA LIFTEK, an association of elevator producers of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. It brings together 26 elevator equipment manufacturers, a state university and design bureau, he said.

Some 2,000  people will engage in elevator production in the Republic. Enterprises will get ready for launching production within 45 days from the date of receiving orders. Monthly output is expected to reach 35 to 40 elevators, the official said.

AGRICULTURAL CLUSTER

The LPR government chairman said that the Republic has all the pre-requisits to set up a full-fledged agricultural cluster which will include associations of food storage and food processing companies and agricultural machinery and storage facilities repair and maintenance centers.

The implementation of this project will help create jobs for the countryside and strengthen the Republic’s food security, Kozlov said.

As of July 23, more than 4,500 LPR residents had submitted recommendations for “United Russia’s” People’s Program.

People’s Program is the party’s program document with which it ran in parliamentary, regional and municipal elections. It is based on “instructions” from citizens which party candidates take during meetings with voters. In late May, the program added the sections on “Development of New Territories” and “Domestic Tourism.” *i*sb
