Fires destroy 100 hectares of vegetation in LPR over 24 hours - Emergencies Ministry
Fires have destroyed more than 100 hectares ofiref vegetation in the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, the LPR Emergencies Ministry press service reported.
“Twenty-seven fires have occurred in the LPR ecosystem on an area of 101.5 hectares over the past 24 hours,” the Ministry said.
Dry grass burnt on an area of 37 hectares in the Pervozvanovka village, Lutugino district on August 17 afternoon, due to careless handling of fire by unidentified persons.
In the Novosvetlovka township, Krasnodon district, fire engulfed 800 square meters of forest plantation. The cause is being investigated.
As of August 16, more than 2,500 fires had occurred in the LPR ecosystem since the beginning of this year.*i*ie
