The Industry Development Fund has allocated 99.4 million rubles to the Lugamash locomotive building plant for an upgrade project and will subsidize another 12 new companies in the Lugansk People’s Republic, said LPR representative in the Federation Council upper house of the Russian parliament, “United Russia” General Council Deputy Secretary Darya Lantratova.   The LPR is actively restoring its industry following years of neglect by Ukrainian authorities and hostilities, Lantratova said in a post on Telegram.   “It has established the Industry Development Fund and adopted a program to develop instruments of state support for the industry in 2022-2024. The program is mainly focused on rebuilding the infrastructure. The Fund has allocated 99.4 million rubles for the first project of the Lugamash locomotive building plant; 12 new companies are preparing to get subsidies for upgrades,” she said.   The program covers all kinds of businesses. Entrepreneurs can apply for easy-term-loans worth five to 100 million rubles. The money can be used for launching new products and retooling.   The LPR authorities are promoting trade with other regions and implementing all-Russian projects and programs, Lantratova said.   Disbursed investments in 2022 reached over 12.9 billion rubles across all sectors, a 2.1-times increase from 2021. There are plans to create a free economic zone. The new Russian regions have large industrial and human potentials, she said.   Earlier, Lugamash, supported by the LPR government, purchased new equipment and launched the modernization of the existing assets. In 2021, the company sold 1.2 billion rubles worth of products.   The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
