LUGANSK, October 31 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The UN Security Council discussion of the Donbass November 11 elections in the absence of the LPR and the DPR representatives runs the norms of international law, said LPR acting Foreign Minister representing the Republic at Minsk talks Vladislav Deinego.

"The UN Security Council meeting reviewed the legitimacy of the Donbass elections in the absence of the Donbass representatives. It is at odds with the norms of international law and the common sense.

"Elections in Donbass are not contradictory to the Minsk Agreements and are held, first of all, in compliance with the Constitution and residents' constitutional rights, which is stipulated by the norms of international law. Discussion of elections without our representatives is unprofessional, to say the least," Deinego said.

The UN Security Council convened a meeting on October 30 in New York to discuss the legitimacy of the Donbass upcoming elections. Russian ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said that the elections are needed to avoid the power vacuum in the region. The UN Security Council meeting voted against Russian representative's proposition to invite the LPR Central Election Commission chairwoman Elena Kravchenko.
