Lugansk People’s Republic schools will join the “Immortal Regiment” action which will be held across Russia on May 4, LPR Deputy Education and Science Minister Leila Zotova told the Lugansk Media Center.   “On May 4, the schools will hold assemblies war in the “Immortal Regiment” format to mark the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic, with a flag-hoisting ceremony, a copy of the Victory Banner and National Anthem performance,” Zotova said. “Pupils will raise the portraits of their heroic ancestors and will observe a minute of silence to honor their memory.”   In classrooms, pupils will share stories of feats, recite verses and sing wartime songs. Children will visit school museums and watch war veterans’ video addresses.   “Immortal Regiment” is an international action with the mission to preserve the memory of Great Patriotic War fighters and home front workers. The key event of the “Immortal Regiment” is the Victory Day parade which is held in Russia and other countries on May 9.   During the parade, people carry portraits of their relatives who fought in the war and recount their war stories.
