The Lugansk People’s Republic will be developing its cybersecurity sphere, LPR Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Andrey Yershov said in an interview with the Lugansk Media Center.
“The ministry has a division responsible for information security,” Yershov said. “We’ll upgrade it and reinforce with additional personnel.”
For example, external attempts to penetrate the LPR network perimeter were made during the September elections. They were promptly detected and thwarted, he said.
“It’s a serious matter. Network intrusions are among the main threats which people are unaware about. If we neglect cybersecurity, we can find ourselves in a distorted reality. To avoid it, we have regular meetings with LPR providers and partner with large federal companies which have a high level of expertise in cybersecurity, he said.*i*sb
