Moscow and Lugansk plan to extend the twin cities cooperation program to five years, Lugansk mayor Manolis Pilavov told reporters.   “We’re thinking of extending the three-year program to five years,” Pilavov said.   There have been no renovation projects in the LPR capital in the past three decades, he said expressing the hope that Lugansk would regain its proper appearance during the years of cooperation with Moscow.   On June 3, 2022, Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin and Lugansk administration head Manolis Pilavov signed a joint declaration on establishing twin city ties between the capitals of Russia and the LPR.
