Activists of the Moscow Helps” project started by city mayor Sergey Sobyanin have delivered 10,000 New Year gifts to Lugansk, said Lugansk People’s Republic Deputy Government Chairperson Anna Todorova.
The gifts were unloaded at the Youth Integration Center which will distribute them among kindergartens, boarding schools, orphanages and children from families of mobilized LPR fighters.
“Today, we received 10,000 New Year gifts for children of our Republic, as part of the “Moscow Helps” action,” Todorova said. “These gifts will be taken to social welfare institutions in the nearest future.”
“On behalf of the LPR government, I thank Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin and his team for the remarkable presents. Thank you for your help and support,” the LPR official said.
STOlitsa Youth Society volunteer Almaz Khairullin said that the gifts had been sent to the LPR at Sobyanin’s personal initiative.
“We’ve brought New Year gifts personally from Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin; 10,000 sweets for children to have a happy New Year,” he said. “I think that no New Year can do without sweets or chocolates.”
Sobyanin and Lugansk administration head Manolis Pilavov signed a joint declaration on twin-city ties between the capitals of Russia and the LPR. The Moscow mayor and LPR government chairman Sergey Kozlov signed an intergovernmental agreement on trade, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.*i*v
