A new wireless service provider might start operation in the Lugansk People’s Republic later this month, said LPR Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Andrey Yershov.
“MKS is our key player on the cell phone service market,” Yershov said in an interview with the Lugansk Media Center. “Miranda-Media and K-Telecom are actively building base stations at present. <…> I believe that one of these two new operators will start working in October.”
The new operator will initially provide mobile phone communication and messaging, he said adding that LPR residents would be able to choose the operator by the level of services.
At the first stage, the new network will be available in Lugansk, Alchevsk, Perevalsk, Krasnodon and other large settlements. Miranda-Media’s priorities include the improvement of communications quality in the LPR’s northern areas.*i*sb
