The 172nd humanitarian aid convoy of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) has delivered 44 tons of foodstuffs to Rubezhnoye, the Lugansk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry press service reported.

“On Thursday, July 21, a new EMERCOM convoy delivered relief supplies for Donbass residents to the LPR capital,” the Ministry said. “Five EMERCOM trucks and an accompanying vehicle have delivered 44 tons of foodstuffs directly to Rubezhnoye.”

On July 20, the 171st EMERCOM convoy delivered 50 tons food to Lugansk.

Russia first sent relief supplies to the LPR on August 22, 2014.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The members of the Contact Group on conflict settlement have announced ceasefire more than 20 times since the autumn of 2014. Kiev forces regularly violated the truce opening fire with large caliber artillery, mortars and tank guns which were to have been withdrawn from the contact line under the accords. *t
