The laws on the integration of the social sphere of the new regions into Russia’s legal environment will extend all Russian social guarantees to residents of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, said LPR representative in the Federation Council, Deputy Secretary of the United Russia political party’s General Council Darya Lantratova.
“Today, the Federation Council has adopted the milestone laws on integrating the social sphere of the new regions into the Russian legal environment,” Lantratova wrote on Telegram. “It means that all social guarantees now extend to residents of the LPR, DPR and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Pension, allowance and benefit procedures including those in healthcare are henceforth the “golden” standard for them, too. If pensions or allowances are recalculated to a lower size compared with the old level, the old level will keep.”
Lantratova said that she had spoken at a FC plenary session for the first time “paying special attention in integration in the sphere of education and science.” For example, researchers who have special achievements and status will get preferences while the students who participated in fighting will have the opportunity to study for free.
“We’ll have an extraordinary session on February 22 as it is important to pass several Tax and Budget Codes laws before the end of the month. We mustn’t waste a single day in restoring a peaceful life,” she said.
On Tuesday, the State Duma lower house of the Russian parliament passed the laws on integration of the education and science spheres of the new regions in the Russian education and research system, on the transition of the new regions to the Russian compulsory social insurance system, and on health protection and circulation of medicines.
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*v
