Republican Power Grid Company (RSK) specialists and Russian power engineers have restored more than 520 kilometers of transmission lines in liberated areas of the Lugansk People’s Republic, the LPR government press service said citing the RSK.

“As of October 4, RSK and Russian power engineers have restored more than 520 kilometers of transmission lines and 317 electrical substations of various voltage levels; electricity has been supplied to 23 settlements,” the press service said.

“Four civil infrastructure facilities were reconnected to the power grid in Severodonetsk, including a school, a medical center, a kindergarten and an office building. Electricity has been supplied to 74 apartment buildings in the town,” the RSK said. “In Rubezhnoye, electricity has been supplied to 20,560 customers.”

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Earlier, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. On July 3, the LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force. *i*s
