The number of people killed in Kiev artillery strikes at Alchevsk has increased to ten, Lugansk People’s Republic militia Colonel Andrey Marochko said.
Early on Monday, Ukrainian forces fired six HIMARS missiles at the town. Damage was caused to a teaching block of the Donbas State Technical University (DonGTI) and its dormitories that provided accommodation to displaced persons. Preliminary reports said three people had been killed and at least 15 had been wounded. Later on, Marochko said that nine civilians had been killed while the Town Hall reported that 24 had been wounded.
“As of 14:00, the number of people killed in HIMARS strikes at an Alchevsk dormitory had risen to ten; 24 had been wounded,” Marochko said in a new post on Telegram.
In the morning of December 4, Kiev forces fired four HIMARS missiles at Alchevsk damaging DonGTI’s Industrial College and the college dormitory.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
