Alchevsk Metallurgical Works (AMK), a subsidiary of the South Mining and Metallurgical Complex (YuGMK), has raised the output to over 10,000 tons of cast iron and steel per day, AMK production director Gennady Lamtyugov said at a conference at the LPR Government House.
The company relaunched two blast furnaces last year.
“The first produces 3,000 to 3,100 tons of cast iron a day, and the fifth blast furnace’s current output is 2,000 to 2,100 tons of cast iron a day,” Lamtyugov said. “In all, we produce some 5,000 to 5,300 tons of cast iron per day.”
The oxygen-converter plant launched in November 2021 currently produces 4,800 to 5,400 tons of steel per day, he added.
Last October, AMK and other large steel mills and coking plants of Donbass which previously had been managed by Vneshtorgservice, were passed to YuGMK with the view of production development. YuGMK currently runs Alchevsk Metallurgical Works and Stakhanov Ferroalloys Plant, as well as the DPR-based companies Yenakiyevo and Makeyevka Metallurgical Plants, Makeyevka Coking Plant, Yasinovataya Coking Plant and Komsomolskoye Mine Administration. YuGMK also runs the Lugansk casting and mechanical plant.
YuGMK director general is Yevgeny Yurchenko. Earlier, Yurchenko said that AMK had fully cleared the wage debt to serving and former employees.
He also said that Alchevsk Metallurgical Works planned to participate in government procurements in the Russian Federation. *i*s
