Investigative Committee (SK) chairman Alexander Bastrykin has chaired a conference over organization of investigation bodies’ work in the new Russian regions, the SK Information Center reported on Telegram.
The conference was attended by SK First Deputy Chairman Eduard Kaburneyev, SK Deputy Chairman Sergey Goryainov and officials from the divisions of SK Central Office and departments in the new regions.
“The participants discussed legal regulation of powers and responsibilities of SK bodies in the new territories paying special attention to interaction with other law-enforcement and supervisory bodies, legal succession and integration of the Russian legal system into practical work,” the Information Center said.
“Alexander Bastrykin warned the SK departments’ heads about their personal responsibility for quality and quick staffing and equipping of the new SK divisions. He added that timely implementation of plans has direct impact on the effectiveness of law enforcement and guarantees the observance of law and protection of citizens’ rights in Russia’s new constituent entities,” the SK said.
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*v
