Multiple damage has been reported in Bryanka as Ukrainian forces shelled the town with a Tochka-U missile system, the local administration head Nikolay Morgunov said.
Ukrainian forces targeted Stakhanov, Bryanka and Teplichnoye on Friday night using Tochka-U missile systems.
"At 1.10 a.m. today, Ukrainian fascists shelled the town," Morgunov told journalists.
"One Tochka-U missile was downed thanks to the excellent performance of the Air Defence, houses and outbuildings sustained damage at the Orlovskaya street, as well as a gas pipe."
First responders of the Ministry of Emergencies and gas system management are working at the scene.
"The exact damage will be estimated after the scene examination is complete," Morgunov said.
He added that gas supply is expected to be restored within a day.
Ukraine has been carrying out a military crackdown against Donbass since 2014. Multiple announcements of ceasefires failed to stabilize the situation. The simmering armed conflict escalated rapidly in February this year, and sent Donbass barrelling towards an unprecedented bloodshed.
Russia intervened on February 24 by launching a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine and bring peace back to Donbass. *t
