One person has been killed and a home has been destroyed in a Ukrainian artillery attack at Artyomovsk, Perevalsk District, the Lugansk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC) reported.   Kiev forces delivered a strike at Artyomovsk overnight to October 12 firing a missile from an American high mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS). “The missile fired from an M142 HIMARS killed a 67-year-old man and destroyed a home,” the JCCC said.   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   The Lugansk People’s Republic joined Russia on September 30, 2022, when Russian President Vladimir Putin and LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik signed an agreement on the Republic’s accession to Russia. Earlier, the LPR held a referendum at which more than 98 percent of LPR residents supported reunification with Russia.*i*ie
