Kiev forces have delivered an artillery strike at Svatovo damaging a gas pressure reducing station, windows of houses in a residential area and a garage, Lugansk People’s Republic militia Lt-Col Andrey Marochko said.
“The enemy fired three 155mm artillery rounds at Svatovo at 6:30,” Marochko wrote on Telegram. “Damage was caused to a gas pressure reducing station and windows and roofs of houses; a garage was destroyed. There were no civilian casualties, according to preliminary reports.”
Damage assessment is ongoing, he added.
Kiev forces shelled the LPR twice on December 8.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
