Ukrainian gunmen have fired at a column of refugees from the Lugansk People’s Republic, killing two people and wounding another three, the LPR Prosecutor General’s Office reported.  “On April 13, Ukrainian gunmen in the Kharkov region opened fire at a column of vehicles evacuating civilians from the Lugansk People’s Republic to Ukrainian territory,” the PGO said. “A mortar strike and automatic fire left two people dead and three wounded.” LPR PGO investigators are recording the aftermath of the shooting and the death of civilians. A criminal case has been filed over the killing of civilians by a generally dangerous method in collusion (LPR Criminal Code Article 113, Part 2), a prosecutor said. The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The members of the Contact Group have announced ceasefire more than 20 times since the autumn of 2014. Kiev forces regularly violated the truce, opening fire with large calibre artillery, mortars and tank guns which were to have been withdrawn from the contact line under the accords. On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Earlier, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. As of now, some 80 percent of the LPR territory has been liberated. *i
