Engineers in the settlement of Krasny Luch of the Lugansk People's Republic have restored the transmission line damaged in shelling by Kiev forces in June 2022 providing reliable electricity supply to more than 6,300 customers, the Luganmedia holding reported.   The new materials were delivered by the Republic of Bashkortostan.   “The artillery strike ruined our electrical substation and the neighborhoods switched to reserve lines which were overloaded by an excessive number of users,” Krasny Luch power utility specialist Sergey Poturayev said.   The repairs secure reliable power supply to the 3rd residential neighborhood including the key facilities such as the pumping station, schools and kindergartens, said utility deputy chief engineer Mikhail Parshutin.   “We’re thankful to the Russian Federation which contributed 1.5 kilometers of cables, fittings, fixtures, and tools,” he said adding that reliable electricity supply had been restored to 6,318 customers.   Krasny Luch and Bashkortostan signed a cooperation agreement in June 2022.                                                                                                                         *** On June 16, 2022, 13 people were killed and another 32 were wounded in a Ukrainian Tochka-U tactical missile strike at Krasny Luch. The attack set fire to 50 facilities including a school and a coal mine building leaving more than 10,500 customers without electricity and more than 2,100 without gas supply. In October, Moscow specialists began repairs of the damaged homes.   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression on February 24, 2022. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.   The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
