LPR coal mines have doubled production rate and hoist up to seven thousand tons of coal per day, said the principal deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers Sergey Ivanushkin.
"Coal production amounted to 130 thousand tons in January, daily rate is up to seven thousand tons."
There are 17 state mines and 200 minor enterprises in operation, Ivanushkin said.
Earlier the Ministry of Fuel, Energy and Coal industry reported 10-fold increase in coal production rates in Q4 2016, which allowed paying salaries and debts to employees.
LPR also signed export contract for 2 mln tons of coal to non-CIS countries.
