The Lugansk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry Hydrometeorology Centre has announced that the Republic would stay alert for very high fire danger till August 1.
“Very high fire danger will persist in certain areas of the Republic in the period from July 27 to August 1,” meteorologists warned.
The LPR Hydrometeorology Centre raised fire danger rating to very high on July 19.
Fire danger is a an atmospheric condition characterized by high ambient temperatures, low vapor content, lack of rains and other factors leading to wild fires and grassfires in fields and parks especially due to careless handling of fire.
There are five fire danger levels: very low, low, moderate, high and very high.
LPR Emergencies Ministry reminded that making fires in forests and steppes was prohibited during the fire hazard period. Leaving glass bottles or glass fragments in forest and steppe areas is also prohibited as glass can act as magnifying lens to start a fire. *i*s
