The next batch of Russia’s Sputnik Light vaccine is expected to arrive in the Lugansk People’s Republic on November 25, LPR Healthcare Minister Natalia Paschenko told reporters.
“On November 25, a humanitarian aid convoy will deliver some 150,000 doses of Sputnik Light vaccine,” Paschenko said.
Earlier, Lugansk Republican Clinical Hospital chief doctor Oleg Volman said that LPR residents were more willing to get vaccinated due to surging COVID-19 infection rates .
The World Health Organization called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 253.6 million by now; of those, over 5.1 million people died, according to the WHO. The LPR confirmed 20,180 COVID-19 cases.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures. *i*s
