LPR Health Ministry sends 20 civilians to Rostov region for elective treatment
The Lugansk People’s Republic Healthcare Ministry has sent some 20 civilians to the Rostov region for elective treatment, LPR Healthcare Minister Natalia Paschenko said.
The LPR partially resumed hospitalization of elective patients late last year after medical centers had been converted to military hospitals. The LPR Healthcare Ministry issued an instruction on elective treatment in the LPR and transportation of patients to hospitals in the Rostov, Voronezh and Belgorod regions.
“Over the past few days, we’ve have evacuated some 20 LPR civilians to the Rostov region for treatment,” Paschenko said. “Today, three patients with chronic locomotor disorders which require expensive surgical treatment have been taken to medical centers of that region.”
If elective treatment cannot be provided by territorial medical centers, a patient is taken to the Lugansk Republican Clinical Hospital (LRKB) where a decision is made on treatment in the LPR territory or elsewhere. “In most cases, elective patients receive treatment at LPR medical centers,” LRKB chief doctor Oleg Volman said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik that elective treatment of LPR residents in the Republic and other Russian regions must run smoothly.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
