LPR head Igor Plotnitskiy suggested considering the establishment of an Commonwealth of Unrecognized States. He proposed the concept at an international workshop in Lugansk on Thursday which addressed the problems of recognition of states and governments.

The forum held on LPR leader’s initiative, is attended by officials, scientists and educators of LPR and foreign educational and research institutions, as well as personnel of law-enforcement and government bodies and non-governmental organisations.

“It might make sense to consider the establishment of our own Commonwealth of Independent States: Commonwealth of Unrecognized States,” he said.

“We have a hard time living on our own, but if somebody has not recognized us for some reason why can’t we recognize each other, consolidate and solve our economic and as the case may be, political issues?  Our peoples did give us this authority, so why can’t we use it?” Plotnitskiy said.

“Non-recognition is not the end of the world for DPR, Abkhazia and (South) Ossetia; their peoples live, work and prosper. “Let’s follow one simple principle and pool our efforts. Right now nobody is going to help us, so let us help each other,” Plotnitskiy added.
