The Lugansk People’s Republic Pension Fund continues to finance retirements benefits on time despite the recipients’ transition to Russia’s Social Fund (SFR), LPR Finance Minister Yevgeny Manuilov said at a press briefing at the LPR Government House.
“Today, all social benefits are paid on time and in full measure,” Manuilov said adding that the Finance Ministry fully funded the payroll requests in January through April 2023.
The LPR, as a Russian constituent entity has been following Russian budget and tax laws since January 1, 2023, the minister said.
The Finance Ministry closely cooperates with line ministries in preparing the implementation of the future program for socio-economic development of the region. The LPR budget-funded organizations successfully reregistered in the Russian Federation, Manuilov said.
President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the specifics of pensions and social benefits for citizens living in the Donbass Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions which came into force on March 1, 2023. LPR residents can request pension recalculation at Social Fund offices in the Republic from March 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024.
As of April 26, some 90,000 LPR residents had submitted such applications, while more than 20,500 LPR residents who had obtained Russian citizenship began to draw Russian pensions in May.
