LPR processing enterprises boosted sales by nearly 80 percent in the first ten months of 2016 year-on-year, the Republic’s acting Minister of Industry and Trade Dmitry Bozhic told a news briefing at Lugansk Media Centre on Thursday.

“We have positive (process industry – eds Lugansk Media Centre) sales dynamics in the first ten months  (of the year), amounting to 179 percent compared to 2015,” Bozhic said.

“We expect processing industry sales to reach over 12 billion rubles by yearend,” he said, explaining that some problems slowed down sales growth.

“These are the economic blockade by Ukraine and non-recognition. Also, our enterprises were mostly oriented to the domestic market, so their re-orientation was carried out,” Bozhic said.

The official noted brisk trade in metallurgy, machine-building and food industry.
