Lugansk “Red Cross” replenishing apparel stocks for displaced persons
The Zhovtnevy district “Red Cross Society” is replenishing clothing stocks for displaced persons and the needy, the press service of the Lugansk People’s Republic “Red Cross Society” reported.
“The district organization has asked local residents to donate clothes, footwear and children’s toys,” the press service said. “It operates apparel storage facilities to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced persons and vulnerable groups.”
LPR “Read Cross Society” chairperson Tatyana Sliva said that kind-hearted residents had already helped many needy people.
“We’re very thankful for their contribution,” Sliva said. “There are many displaced persons in Lugansk who have lost or left behind all their property and are in dire need of all kinds of help.”
Zhovtnevy district “Red Cross Society” chairwoman Lyudmila Krikun said that the district office at 30A Volkov Neighborhood provides assistance to the needy and accepts clean and undamaged charity clothes from 10:00 to 14:00 on workdays.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. The LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations on July 3.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
