The first maternity capital certificate issued in the Lugansk People’s Republic has been handed in to a resident of the LPR capital.
The document was provided by the LPR branch of the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund.
“The Social Fund Department for the LPR launched client support services in January 2023,” Department Head Tatyana Vasilyeva said. “The first benefits we delivered were single allowances and a maternity capital certificate <...> It’s the first certificate in Lugansk entitling to maternity capital in the Lugansk People’s Republic.”
Russian citizenship is obligatory for receiving this type of benefit.
Lugansk resident Natalia who is bringing up two children was the first to receive a maternity capital certificate in the LPR.
“Document processing did not take long. I submitted the documents and five days later received a notification that the benefit had been approved,” she said. “This support for the family is very important.”
The certificate can also be applied for at the Russian Government Services portal.
The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
