Man rushed to hospital after tripping a mine in Zolotoye-4
A man has been hospitalized to the Stakhanov town hospital with multiple injuries after tripping a land mine in Zolotoye-4, an official said.
“The ordnance left by Ukrainian armed formations harms the life and health of our civilians,” head of the Pervomaisk administration Sergey Kolyagin wrote on Telegram. “Yesterday (on January y18), a 63-year-old resident of Zolotoye-4 was hurt in a land mine explosion on production premises of the non-operational “Rodina” coal mine.”
The Pervomaisk mayor urged town residents to be careful when walking.
“Take the precautions which should have become a handbook for everyone over the past eight years. Take care of yourself and your families,” he said.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
