The Social Fund Department for the Lugansk People’s Republic has granted maternity capital to more than 20,000 LPR families, the Fund’s press service reported.
“As many as 21,091 maternity capital certificates have been issued since January 2023 when the benefit became available to LPR families,” the press service said.
Low-income families can opt to tap maternity capital by drawing a monthly allowance of 10,877 rubles per child up to three years of age. In the LPR, 325 families receive such payments, the Fund said.
A maternity capital certificate is issued within five workdays. The benefit can be denied if mother or child has no Russian citizenship or if the second-time applicant has not remedied the situation since previous denial.
As of October 27, some 20,000 LPR families had got maternity capital certificates. *i*sb
