One civilian killed, one wounded as Ukrainian forces shell Svatovo - JCCC
One civilian has been killed and another has been wounded in a Kiev army artillery attack at Svatovo, said the Lugansk People’s Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC).
“Ukrainian armed formations fired five 155mm artillery projectiles at Svatovo at 08:20. The strike killed a 37-year-old civilian and wounded another person, and also caused damage to six homes,” the JCCC said.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
