Putin orders to draw socio-economic development program for new regions by end of March
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government to prepare a socio-economic development program for the new regions by the end of the first quarter of 2023, the Interfax news agency reported.
“These regions have to attain the national level in terms of quality of infrastructure, social services and many other quality-of-life parameters by 2030,” Putin said at a session of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.
“A relatively distant deadline by no means suggests that the task can be postponed,” he said.
“We have to ensure rapid development of the new regions even now and achieve results in each of them,” he said adding that dedicated ministers and deputy premiers were responsible for it.
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022, based on the results of the unification referenda.*i*v
