A new humanitarian aid convoy of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) has delivered 270 tons of foodstuffs to Lugansk, the Lugansk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry press service reported.
“On November 10, EMERCOM trucks carrying humanitarian aid for Donbass residents arrived in the LPR capital <...> The convoy of 21 trucks delivered to Lugansk 270 tons of foodstuffs,” the report said.
“No contingencies occurred in transit,” the LPR Emergencies Ministry said.
On November 2, EMERCOM trucks delivered foodstuffs, personal hygiene products, bedclothes and medications to Lugansk, while the next convoy that arrived in the LPR capital on November 5 delivered 75 tons of buckwheat and 35 tons of canned meat.
Russia first sent relief supplies to the LPR on August 22, 2014. Over eight years, it has sent more than 150,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the Donbass Republics.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
