The Russian Ministry of Culture is launching the project “Cultural Card 4+85” for schoolchildren in the new regions, designed to be a counterpart of the “Pushkin Card” program, an official said.
“Imparting culture to the young is the key objective of “Pushkin Card,” Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said an interview with the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda. “Today, the most important thing in the work with the young people from the new regions is to familiarize them with the cultural and historical heritage of our mutual Motherland. That is why we’re launching a new program of cultural and educational trips for schoolchildren of the DPR, LPR and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.”
It will enable some 10,000 schoolchildren each year to travel across the country starting 2023, and visit its cultural and technological heritage sites.
Children will have the opportunity to visit the Plesetsk cosmodrome, the Zvyozdny Gorodok (Star City) space training facility, the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, the Soyuzmultfilm and Mosfilm studios which produce animated cartoons and feature films, the Ostankino Television Tower, the Bolshoi Theatre etc., the minister said.
Earlier, Lyubimova said that the Ministry would support the new regions within the scope of the national project in the field culture.
“Pushkin Card” is an education program for people aged 14 to 22 who live in Russia. The participants enjoy free-of-charge visits to museums, theatres, cinemas, exhibitions, philharmonic societies and other cultural centers.
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*v
