The Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) has set up its branches in the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
“Federal Service Head Anna Popova has signed an instruction to set up territorial bodies in the new regions,” the Rospotrebnadzor press service reported.
The document establishes four new Rospotrebnadzor departments whose directors have the powers of chief sanitary doctors of their respective regions.
Overall, the Federal Service will have 89 subdivisions across Russia.
Rospotrebnadzor is also setting up hygiene and epidemiology centers in the new regions. “The expanding network of territorial bodies will help ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the residents of the new regions,” the Rospotrebnadzor press service said.
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022, based on the results of the unification referenda.*i*ie
