LUGANSK, October 4 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Russia’s State Duma (parliament) deputy, a native of the Lugansk region and former Crimea prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya played a part in the Lugansk People’s Republic first ever full-length film “Militiawoman.” The final scenes with Poklonskaya were shot by the Lugafilm company, the Lugansk Media Centre said on Thursday.
According to the scenario, Poklonskaya commented on the Donbass situation at a press briefing at the Lugansk Media Centre in 2016. No dubbing for the Poklonskaya scenes was necessary.
Prior to the shooting, Poklonskaya saw the Militiawoman teaser.
“You did a great job; it’s exciting and breathtaking! See what patriotism can do! It embraces so many souls, lives and fates,” she said in comments on the teaser.
“Today’s is a very important day; we’ve finished the making of the fuill-length feature film Militiawoman wrapping up a 68-day effort,” said the author of the idea, film producer and Lugafilm director Roman Razum.
“The project involved all Lugansk People’s Republic services such as the Interior Ministry, the Emergencies Ministry, the State Security Ministry, the Culture Ministry, but the People’s Militia made the largest contribution,” Razum said. “We shot tank battle scenes and the fighting between Ukrainian servicemen and our units and reconstructed the Svetlodarsk salient fighting. Film editing and voicework will begin today; we hope to release the film by May 2019 marking the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics.”
“The difficult, four-month stint is over; we’re happy to have done the job, and at the same time we’re sad to part with Russian colleagues as we won’t have many opportunities to often see the people we’ve come to like. We’ll be waiting for the screening and the public’s appreciation. We’ve nothing to be ashamed of; we did everything in good faith,” production director Alexey Kozlov said.
Scriptwriter Boris Tabachnik reminded that the project was launched in November 2016.
“We worked as a team, it was nice. We were working on the project for the people who now live in Donbass, and for the whole world because the world must know the truth about what is happening here,” Tabachnik said.
“The parts of the female tank crew of three were played by LPR Merited Artist, Lugansk Ukrainian Academic Music and Drama Theatre Artist Natalia Starodubtseva and guest stars from Moscow Natalia Koloskova and Maria Pern. The film also started well-known Moscow artists Yury Mirontsev, Anatoly Falynsky, Vilen Babichev and Lugansk theatres’ artists.
“During the film-making, we’ve met some amazing people who’d never looked into the camera before, but showed their unique talents. You’ll see them on the screen soon. I’d say that some Ukrainian Theatre artists are first magnitude stars who would be great assets for Russian film-makers,” Razum said.
In October 2017, a delegtation from the Rusian Federation and LPR People’s Council officials visited Poklonskaya’s grandmother who lived in the Republic’s Perevslkiy district and brought her Crimean honey as a gift.
Natalia Poklonskaya was born in the Mikhailovka vilalge in the Voroshilovgrad (Lugansk) region on March 18, 1980. She became widely known as she headed the Crimean Prosecutor’s Office during the peninsula’s reunification with Russian in 2014. Poklonskaya has been Russian State Duma deputy since 2016. She chairs the house committee for verification of lawmakers’ property declarations data. She is also deputy chairwoman of the State Duma committee for combating corruption and member of the house commission for reviewing federal budget expenditure on national defence, security and law enforcement.
