The Council for the integration of the new regions under the upper house of the Russian parliament (FC) will start working in the near future, the FC press service reported.
 “It is expected to become the main parliamentary center for the new regions’ transition to the Russian norms of life and public administration,” said Federation Council speaker Valentina Matviyenko adding that she hoped that the new territories would interact closely with the leadership and senators of the new territories.”
She said that the FC would support the Russian president’s initiative to establish a new commemorative date.   “On September 30, we’ll mark the first anniversary of the reunification of the DPR, LPR and the Zaporzhye and Kherson regions,” the fact speaker said.   *** Matviyenko earlier suggested establishing a council for the integration of the new regions.   The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i
