Rostov region engineers and Luganskgaz state unitary enterprise specialists have restored more than six kilometers of the gas pipe damaged by Kiev artillery strikes, the company press service reported.
One of the two trunk gas pipes in Lisichansk was severely damaged in the spring of 2022. Engineers restored gas supply to the town by the autumn bypassing the damaged line.
“In January, a contractor company built an underwater crossing for safe pipeline laying across the river Seversky Donets. Overall, six kilometers of the pipeline were replaced. The work involved some 90 personnel and 45 pieces special-purpose equipment,” the press service said.
Luganskgaz Director General Tatyana Bogorodko who visited Lisichansk to inspect the repairs thanked the colleagues from the Rostov region for helping to resolve the problem. “The repaired gas pipe will help improve the quality of services,” she said.
Earlier, Luganskgaz restored gas supply to 19 settlements in the Severodonetsk district.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
On February 24, 2022 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
