Specialists to drill 15 new wells to supply water to Lisichansk, Zolotoye
Territorial Development Fund specialists have suggested drilling 15 new wells and installing modular boiler houses and water towers to provide Lisichansk, Gorskoye and Zolotoye with heat and water, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said.
“The installation of centralized water and heat supply lines in the new regions is ongoing,” said Khusnullin who heads the Supervisory Board of the Territorial Development Fund. “We plan to drill 15 new wells and install modular boiler houses to provide some 10,000 people living there with water and heat."
Boiler house modules come fully equipped and can be launched immediately after being connected to utility lines. Apartment buildings and social facilities, 214 in all, will be connected after completion of all required works, he said.
These wells will also be used to supply water to Lisichansk residents through new water towers.
Well installation is part of the measures to rebuild DPR and LPR civil infrastructure facilities. Water wells are normally drilled to a depth of 80 to 120 meters. Deep-well pumps are controlled by an automatic system.
Earlier, five modular boiler houses were supplied to Severdonetsk.
Supported by Russian forces, LPR militia units began to advance towards Severodonetsk and Lisichansk in early March 2022, and gained a foothold in Severodonetsk on May 29. On June 25, they took under full control the industrial zone of the Azot works in the town. On the same day, the coalition forces entered Lisichansk. Both towns were liberated by early July.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. The LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations on July 3.
