Three people have been killed and at least 15 have been wounded in a Kiev artillery strike at Alchevsk, town administration head Albert Apshev told the Lugansk Media Center citing preliminary reports.
Early on Monday, Ukrainian forces used an American high mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS) to fire six missiles at the town.
“According preliminary information, one person is dead; supposedly, there are two more fatalities under the debris. Rescuers are retrieving the bodies,” Apshev said. “We also have five seriously wounded people and more than 10 have requested medical assistance.”
In the morning of December 4, Kiev forces fired four HIMARS missiles at Alchevsk damaging the Industrial College of the Donbass State Technical University and the college dormitory.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
