The Lugansk People’s Republic Supreme Court has given a 16-year prison sentence to a Ukrainian serviceman who shelled the Nizhneye township in the Popasnaya district in April 2022 ruining a home, Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) reported.

“The gathered evidence was sufficient for passing a guilty verdict on 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade serviceman Yury Bosovich,” the report said. He pleaded guilty to the crime and will serve his sentence in a maximum security prison.

On April 5, 2022, Bosovich and his colleagues fired fragmentation mortar rounds at the Nizhneye settlement damaging a dwelling house. The attack was also provocation to accuse Russian forces of destroying civilians and property, the SK said.
