Woman killed as Ukrainian forces shell Pervomaisk - mayor
A woman has been killed in her home in a Ukrainian artillery attack at Pervomaisk, town administration head Sergey Kolyagin wrote on Telegram.
Ukrainian forces fired an American high mobility artillery rocket system at the settlement early on Friday.
“I’ve just returned from the scene of shelling. Before my eyes, rescuers retrieved the body of a 31-year-old woman from under the debris. She is survived by her son who luckily has been staying with his grandmother since last evening,” Kolyagin said.
A semi-detached house was fully destroyed, he said adding that the strike targeted civilians who are residents of the factory workers neighborhood.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
