A woman has been wounded and a two-storey house has been completely ruined in a Ukrainian artillery strike at the town of Bryanka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Bryanka administration head Yevgeny Morozov said.
Ukrainian armed formations fired an American high mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS) at Bryanka at 02:05 on Friday expending six missiles.
“I have returned from the scene of shelling. A two-storey eight-unit apartment house was almost completely destroyed and another two were seriously damaged,” Morozov wrote on Telegram. “A 72-year-old woman was wounded.”
A damage assessment commission and “Komservis” utility company personnel are working at the scene, he added.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
