Kiev forces shelled the Lugansk People’s Republic 18 times in May killing 14 people and wounding another 56 including seven children, said the LPR Office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC).   “In May, the LPR Office at the JCCC recorded 18 strikes at the Republic by Ukrainian armed formations which targeted 15 settlements,” the JCCC said. “Seventy civilians became victims of Ukrainian armed formations aggression in the designated period; of those, 14 were killed and 56 were wounded including seven children.”   Damage was caused to 105 homes and 29 civil infrastructure facilities. The enemy used five Storm Shadow missiles, high-mobility artillery systems (33 projectiles) and 155mm artillery to attack the Republic.   ***   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
