More than 2.2 billion rubles will be paid to some 2,400 Lugansk People’s Republic residents in compensations for damaged or lost homes, said the LPR government press service.   “The Republic has begun to pay compensations for damaged or lost homes to more than 2,400 residents whose applications were approved in January through August 2023,” the press service said.   Home loss and damaged home money will be paid to 1,768 and 651 LPR residents, respectively.   The payments are part of social support of the citizens whose property was damaged or ruined during hostilities in the LPR territory.   ***   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022 to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.  *i*ie
