Russian servicemen manning positions in the Lugansk People’s Republic have repelled 23 Ukrainian attacks over the past week, said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik.
“Our servicemen have again shown their combat superiority over Ukrainian armed formations equipped with western weapons,” Pasechnik wrote on Telegram. “Over the past week, our fighters repelled 23 enemy attacks on their positions.”
He noted the efficient work of artillerymen and drone operators who left the advancing Ukrainian groups without fire support.
The enemy losses amounted to 185 in dead or wounded in the failed attempts to break through in the areas of Berestovoye-Pereyezdnoye, Novodruzhevsk-Grigorovka, Volcheyarovka-Ivano-Daryevka and Artyomovsk-Kleshcheyevka, the LPR leader said.
Russian servicemen eliminated:
- 24 guns and mortars including one Polish-made “krab” self-propelled howitzer and one US-made M777 artillery piece;
more than 10 recoilless guns, anti-tank missile systems, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers;
- six armored vehicles including two Bradleys and one tank;
- ten cars including HMMWV vehicles;
- eight field ammunition depots;
- three temporary duty stations.
“Air defense and electronic warfare systems foiled all the 44 attempts to violate our Republic’s air space. The enemy lost more than 60 unmanned aerial vehicles; I’m confident that our guys will cope with any combat mission,” Pasechnik said.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022 to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.*i
