British instructors train Ukrainian armed forces personnel in the JFO zone to operate the NLAW anti-tank missile system, recently shipped to Ukraine from Britain, LPR People’s Militia official spokesperson Ivan Filiponenko said.
"In the vicinity of Dmitrovka, British instructors drill personnel of the 79th air assault brigade to fire NLAW anti-tank missile systems shipped from Britain to Ukraine in late January this year," he said.
Earlier Filiponenko said that Ukraine deployed Javelin, TOW and NLAW missile systems, shipped by Western countries, to frontline areas in Donbass.
LPR chief-of-staff Jan Leschenko reported earlier that the Ukrainian armed forces prepare for active military action in Donbass, and make sure the amassment of forces is carried out in secret. Nevertheless, currently Ukraine is not ready to launch a full-fledged offensive along the entire line of contact.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line. *t
